For Both Windows and Mac Users

  1. Read the Warning Carefully:

    • Check what the warning says (e.g., about a potential threat, unsafe website, or suspicious download).
  2. If It’s About a Website:

    • Avoid proceeding to the website unless you are certain it’s safe.
    • On Windows, click Back to Safety; on Mac, close the browser tab.
  3. If It’s About a File or App:

    • Do not open the file or app. Delete it immediately if it seems suspicious.
    • On Windows, open Windows Security to scan the file; on Mac, use Security & Privacy settings.
  4. Run a Security Scan:

    • On Windows, go to Windows Security > Virus & Threat Protection and run a quick scan.
    • On Mac, open your antivirus app and run a system scan.
  5. Contact IT for Guidance:

    • If you are unsure about the warning, take a screenshot and contact your IT team for help.
