How Do I Turn On or Off the Firewall?

For Windows Users

1. Open Firewall Settings:

   • Click the Start Menu, type Firewall, and select Windows Defender Firewall.

2. Check Firewall Status:

   • In the left-hand menu, click Turn Windows Defender Firewall On or Off.

3. Enable or Disable Firewall:

   • Select Turn on Windows Defender Firewall for both private and public networks.
   • To disable, select Turn off Windows Defender Firewall, but this is not recommended without IT guidance.

4. Save Changes:

   • Click OK to apply the settings.

For Mac Users

1. Open Firewall Settings:

   • Click the Apple Menu and choose System Settings.

2. Go to Firewall Options:

   • Navigate to Privacy & Security > Firewall.

3. Enable or Disable the Firewall:

   • Click Turn On Firewall to enable.
   • To disable, click Turn Off Firewall, but this is not recommended without IT guidance.
